ABOUT ALAN E. VANDERBURGH Q.C.
Alan Vanderburgh received his Bachelor of Law at the University of British Columbia, and after practicing in Vancouver, moved to Williams Lake in 1961. He commenced a law practice in partnership with Lee Skipp under the firm name Skipp & Vanderburgh. After the appointment of Lee Skipp to the County Court of Vancouver in 1973, Alan carried on with his practice under the name Vanderburgh & Company.
He had been actively involved with the community since his arrival in Williams Lake, and had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Williams Lake Golf & Tennis Club, of which he was a life member, and was a founding member of the Cariboo Foundation. He served as a bencher, the governing body of British Columbia lawyers, and was made a life bencher in 2001. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1998. He was a past governor of the Law Foundation of British Columbia and past president of the Cariboo Bar Association.
His personal interests were reading, golf, gardening and enjoying his many grandchildren.
